Can we view/test drive before booking?
Of course! Please give us a call to arrange the best time to come and have a look or test drive any of the vans, providing they are here!
When can I collect and return the vans?
Collection is from 3-5pm unless prior arrangements outside these times.
Return is from 10am-12pm unless prior arrangement outside these times.
Our hire days are Mondays and Fridays with a 3 night minimum booking unless discussed with a member of our team.
How do we complete a booking?
All you need to do is check the calendar, fill in the boxes and click request to book. If you would like any more information before you submit a booking either drop us an email or give us a call.
Who can drive the campervans?
Anyone who is between the ages of 25 years of age and under 75 years of age and has held their licence for 2 years or more. Please see terms and conditions for more information.
What is included in my booking?
Up to 100 miles per day, any over that is charged at 25p per mile, insurance and breakdown cover are also included. As well as free on-site secure parking.
Your campervan will also have a full diesel tank and water tank. We just ask you to replace the diesel you use before returning the van.
Do we need to pay a deposit and security deposit?
A 25% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The 75% balance will be due 6 weeks before your trip starts. You will also be required to pay a security deposit of £1000 by bank transfer 72hours before you travel. The security deposit will be held until 5 working days after your trip. The security deposit is required to cover any damages and incidents while the vehicle is away. It is held for up to 5 days to allow for quotes to be obtained for damage.
How do I pay the security deposit?
The security deposit can be paid by bank transfer or credit card if it is easier- this will incur a none refundable £30 charge. The payment also has to be made as a seperate transaction to your booking charge.
How much is the insurance excess?
The insurance excess on all our vehicles is £1000, which is the same amount as the security deposit, and can be used as this should it be needed.
What do I need to bring when I collect?
You will need to email copies of your driving licence and two forms of ID before you collect the vehicle as well as a DVLA Driving license code that will be emailed out 72h before collection: –
Proof of hirers identity and permanent address are required – two forms of ID that are less than 90 days old, from the following list
- Council Tax Bill/Statement
- TV/Internet/Landline telephone bill (including Sky/Virgin/BT etc)
- Bank Statement
- Credit Card Statement
- Mortgage Statement

Can I collect/drop off at various times?
With prior arrangement this is possible. However if the campervan is already booked in or out, we won’t be able to accommodate this.
How long is the collection/drop off process?
We aim to make collection and drop off as efficient and smooth as possible, hoping to have you away within 40 minutes.
Can I leave my car at OVC premises?
While your away exploring, our office has free parking for one vehicle per booking available.
Are you able to collect me from the train or bus station?
Yes, we are able to collect you, however this must be arranged in advance.
What happens if the campervan breaks down?
In the unlikely event of a breakdown, you will be given our breakdown company and our policy number on handover. Please also contact the OVC team and let us know.
Can I cancel my trip and what do I pay?
Cancellations made more than 4 weeks before your trip dates will be refunded excluding your deposit. Cancellations made within 4 weeks of your trip dates will not be refunded unless we are able to resell your dates.
Can I amend the dates of my trip?
If you would like to transfer your booking, we will try to accommodate this. There will be no refund if the new booking is for dates at a lower price. If you want to transfer your booking to another vehicle, we would need a new booking form to be completed with all the details required in our Hiring Requirements.
What is supplied as standard in the campervans?
All campers are provided with everything you will need to get you started! A list is available on the individual camper van page.
What are the optional extras?
Our optional extras include
- A bike rack for two bikes (Not all vans are fitted with tow bars, please check before booking).
- To bring your pet along for the adventure.
- Bedding including two pillows, duvet, sheet, and mattress protector- one less thing to pack.
- If you don’t want to do a full clean down, you can add the optional cleaning and we will do it for you.
Can we bring a dog?
If booked in advance small dogs are welcome, they are charged at £5 per night and must be added onto your booking prior to collection of the van.
Can I bring my bike?
All but one of our vehicles can be fitted with a bike rack at an extra cost of £20 per trip. Please do not carry bikes inside the vehicles as the vans are not wide enough, and the pedals will more than likely scratch inside.
What happens if I have an accident or damage the vehicle?
If you damage the campervan either inside or out or via an accident, please inform us within 24 hours. Please do not attempt to sort out any liability or settlement without talking to the OVC team. Please also refer to our terms and conditions for more information
Are there power sockets in the campervans?
Yes all the vans have power sockets, USB points, and electric hook up points and cables for when you are on a site. These will be pointed out to you on collection.
What fuel do the campervans run on?
All our vehicles run on Diesel. You will be provided with a full tank on collection of the vehicle, and we ask you fill it up before handing the vehicle back to us.
Can I smoke inside the campervan?
All our vehicles are strictly no smoking or vaping. If we find that smoking or vaping has occurred, a deduction will be made from your security deposit.
Will you show us how everything works?
Of course!
On collection there will be a full demonstration of the campervan. We will email you links to videos if available and each van has its own handbook. We will be at the end of the phone should you struggle with anything while you are away!
Can I drive on an international license?
Please contact us before booking if this is the case.
What are the van’s dimensions?
All the vans differ in size however it is written in the handbook for each individual van and if you need the dimensions for campsite we can happily send them over for you.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes! These make fantastic presents for any occasion!
